The two books that have been on my daily constant read are You2 (you squared) and The Quantum Leap Strategy. Both phenomenal, short, easily digestible books, and both by Price Pritchett. I came across hearing about You2 through a talk I YouTubed from Bob Proctor, one of the leading experts in self development and law of attraction today. The books come with the ideas that trying harder doesn’t necessarily lead to quantum leaps, and that sometimes choosing a different set of risks comes with greater rewards.
If one is doing the wrong things, then how can trying harder lead to a better result. Sometimes, trying harder makes for more problems.
You2 starts with the story of a fly. It’s stuck trying to get out of a house through the glass window. It will die at the windowsill. If it had turned 180 degrees, it would have found freedom through a door that was already opened. Just a simple change in direction would have made all the difference. A mere 10 seconds to freedom, but it was stuck in a pattern to failure. Trying harder would not have made it miraculously break the window glass, (perhaps unless it was a mutant fly).
Quantum Leap is a bit more actionable in that it has questions that can lead as prompts to write in one’s journal or notebook. I’ve found it to be very convenient having my journal on my iPad, easier to make corrections and add/edit as I go.
The two are good companions to each other, having the same titled chapters. One expands the concept of each short chapter in a certain direction compared to the other.
Put together, I believe that they hold powerful keys to unlocking one’s true potential.
