The Shaman Within

What does it truly mean to be a shaman? What is a shaman? The shaman is a connector between the spiritual and the physical. Some say they see the dream of reality for what it is. They see the veil of who we show the rest of the world and what lies beneath. What if, just like everyone has psychic powers, that everyone had a part of their being that was a shaman?

This part of us can see our past lives and project our many future selves. It can lead us through the path of least resistance. It can connect with our ancestors so we can bear the hidden gifts we’ve been granted.

But it requires belief and intent. We have to believe that the realm which resides under our physical senses exists. We have to intentionally tap into it, and into the deeper part of ourselves.

When was the last time you journeyed inward? When have you spread your consciousness both deeper in, and farther out to infinity at the same time?

It’s easy to feel separated, but it’s also easy to feel connected. Its easy for the mind to run wild when sitting still, it’s also easy for the mind to be clear in the midst of intense activity. Our individual experiences are unique, even though we share connection to spirit.

Tap into infinity and there you can be infinite. I believe this may be where the shaman within resides and can teach us to be one with it.

(This perspective is inspired by the works of Alberto Villoldo, Don Miguel Ruiz, Don Miguel Ruiz Jr. Don Jose Ruiz, Grigori Grabovoi, and personal experiences through dance, art, and martial arts)
